The entries for #BeAChatur are judged by reputed faculty, established entrepreneurs and industrialists who believe in promoting entrepreneurship. They are themselves very busy people and looking at b-plans is a routine affair for them. Your entry is viewed only by the judges. Presentations are closed room presentations,only the team members and judges will be present during the presentation.
However, we cannot get our judges to sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA). To view our policy regarding confidentiality, refer to Terms and Conditions.
A national level Business-Plan competition where brilliant entrepreneurial ideas will be scrutinized and mentored by experienced pool of Industry experts. The best idea would get seed funding of INR 10 lakhs from Investors.

You can participate as an individual or as a team.
Teams canconsist of minimum 2 and maximum 7 members. You may include faculty, industrialists, professionals, etc in your team. Each team is advised to figure out what expertise it needs to develop a successful business plan and build a team which meets those needs.
Anyone and everyone that you feel are fit can be a part of your team.
Yes, you can change your team info and other registration details by logging into the edit profile page. You can even add a team member or drop someone. However you cannot change the details of the Team Leader later. This facility will be available till 30th April 2015. In case of individual applications, you can edit only the questionnaire and profile.

Once you register, you would be given access to your personalized “Chatur” portal where you would be required to fill up our initial questionnaire to submit your entry. This would also unlock vast repository of resources to help you throughout the competition cycle and even beyond.

Yes, you can but with different email ids. One email id can have one business idea which can be edited multiple times before the last date of submission.
A single registration should be done for a single entry. If you have registered more than once, please send an e-mail to support@chaturideas.com, containing details of all the registrations (quote team name and email ids) made for the entry. Also mention the email id that you are planning to use for the rest of the competition. Multiple registrations for the same entry may result in rejection of the registration.
The questionnaire of #BeAChatur contest is so designed that compiling the answers to the questions would create a basic but complete image of the Idea. A participant is expected to answer all questions in the questionnaire in detail. For more details read sample questionnaire.
Yes, you may upload Word, PowerPoint presentations, Excel, PDF and video link of your business idea. This is however optional. Only questionnaire filling is mandatory. The judging will be done only on the basis of the questionnaire and uploads, if any.
Post submission, you will see a page confirming the receipt of your questionnaire along with your final submission.
Once the questionnaire has been filled and submitted by the participating teams, it will be sent to our sector-specific “Mentor Panel” for evaluation.
Each entry will be judged by multiple mentors and the final scores will be normalized by proven and genuine statistical methods that will be declared soon.
Questionnaires will be judged on the basis of the following criteria and each criterion would be marked on a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the highest and 1 being the lowest.

All registered ideas go through a rigorous selection process which is headed by a five member mentor team. This team is a part of the “Mentor Panel” and has extensive and deep understanding of businesses. Any idea that is selected by 3 out of 5 members gets shortlisted.
Only teams that qualify for the quarter final are eligible for submitting their final business plan.

Business plans will be evaluated based on the quality of the plan, the feasibility of the plan and the size of the market opportunity amongst other judging parameters. Judging will be done by our “Mentor Panel”. Various criteria have been laid down for evaluation.

Seed funding of Rs.10,00,000/- + Mentoring from our “Mentor Panel” and other industry experts + chance to raise more funding from our “Investor Panel”. Chatur Ideas’ Endeavour is to be with theWinner in his journey to set up his venture successfully and provide the Winner with all necessary tools to make his venture a success. Chatur Ideas intent is to continue to support the venture till it reaches advanced rounds of funding or IPO or when the venture can sustain on its own.
Our process selects the best idea and rewards it suitably with all the armor required whether it is mentoring, funding, services, etc. to make it a successful venture.
In any competition, there is a single winner but this does not mean that the others are not equally good. Winner in the race wins by a mili second and hence the close 3 behind him lose. This does not indicate that the other 3 are slow runners. Similarly, the semi-finalists (25) shall be equally good but may have lost out due to some inefficiency which can be rectified, guided and managed by our “Mentor Panel”. Chatur Ideas will create a dedicated team that will work together with the remaining 25 shortlisted Chaturs (part of the semi-final team) to fill in the gaps and provide them with all the necessary tools (mentoring, funding, etc) to make them a success story as well.
Quarter finalist, semi - finalist and grand finalist will have direct access to mentors. However, other registered members will have an online option to interact with mentors via “Ask Mentor”. Revert time will be 3 hours to 48 hours.
Mentoring with respect to all aspect of a business
A mentor will be allotted to all the teams that qualify for Quarter finale i.e. Top 100. The mentoring session will begin from 25th June 2015.
Mentors are sector-specific experienced entrepreneurs or experts who provide assistance and guidance to the participants. These mentors are seasoned industry veterans who have developed and lead successful businesses. Their deep knowledge and immense expertise will help participants shape their business plans efficiently and finally turn into successful business models. Mentors will provide suggestions and feedback to assist participants in refining and enhancing their existing business plan. Participants are not required to have a mentor, although teams are strongly encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity.
